Some history

Brutech Electronics started more than 35 years ago (1975) with the production of the B.E.M-1, a 2 kbyte RAM expansion board for the at that time popular KIM-1 computer. In time more expansion boards, with more memory capacity (RAM and EPROM), and special interfaces followed.

After several years the development culminated in the B.E.M-BUS system, a bus system in eurocard format, designed around 6502 and 6809 based 8-bit microprocessor boards. Later also 16-bit processor boards provided with the 68070 and H8/532/534/536 were added. Although, generally designed more than 10 years ago, most cards are still available today.

A complete family of 6502 and 6809 based single board computers were developed in parallel with the B.E.M-BUS system. The single board computers evolved into the B.E.M-mTx series of micro terminal / controllers. These micro terminal / controllers, intended for industrial applications, could simply be programmed in BASIC. The B.E.M-VIOBUS, a dedicated I/O bus was designed to allow expansion of the micro terminal / controller family. A complete range of I/O boards with opto-couplers, relays and data acquisition functions have been developed in time.
